Joan is a professional photographer and documentary artist who has worked internationally to highlight the diversity of the human condition. She has volunteered for more than 20 years with global non-profits such as Doctors Without Borders and been featured in solo shows since 1986. She is the founder of the Photography Center of Atlanta. Joan joined VSA arts of Georgia in July 2009 as a part-time employee and was promoted to her current position in January 2010.

Marquetta Johnson is a Teaching Artist and Quilter living in Stone Mountain. She has over 20 years of teaching experience and professional development in the areas of Arts Integration, Arts Infusion and Inclusive Classrooms. One of the highlights of Marquetta’s career as a teaching artist has been her children’s workshops presented at the Smithsonian Institute’s Folk Art Festival. She has appeared on many radio and television shows discussing and demonstrating her art form, including HGTV’s “Crafters Coast to Coast” and has been featured in magazines such as “Quilt Magazine” and MARTA’s “Marta on the Go Magazine”. Her artwork is held in many private and corporate collections such as B.B. King, Faith Ringgold, The University of Maryland, Turner Broadcasting, and The Coca Cola Company. Marquetta's first book Hand Dyed Quilts is available on Amazon.com and at Barnes and Noble Booksellers. Marquetta also works with The Names Project-The Aids Memorial Quilt Foundation, the Atlanta Partnership for the Arts in Learning (APAL) and the High Museum of Art-Atlanta.
